Neil is in Kelso for the weekend Pinstriping Honda Goldwings. Its the British Treffen this weekend and changes venue every year...this year will be the 18th year we have attended...and it has grown since then.

Great maiden [camping ] voyage in the vw bus. Usually we fly to a destination and pick up a hire car and stay in apartment or hotels....so after spending the winter getting the bus lowered, interior fitted and it all running smoothly it was a trial run......to see if we actually enjoy camping and touring in an ol'bus.

Luckily we loved it....the weather was fantastic in South west France ..[aparently unusually hot...27 to 30] and the roads from Le Touquet onwards are all brand new, and exactly what you need in a lowered vehicle. Thanks to Phil at Brickfield who sorted our leaky push rod tubes [Neil replaced them before EBI 3....but the ones he fitted were sub-standard....so a better set was ordered from VWHeritage!!!] and thanks to Paul from T2D for supplying a set of coilover shocks in time to uprate the front......the bus did'nt miss a beat and rode like a magic carpet, even fully loaded.

We are already planning next year.....gonna put the bus on the motorrail-train from Calais to Nice then spend 3 weeks meandering back to calais.

greetings fom sunny france, the atlantic coast near la rochelle...the ol bus cruised here without hitch...beaches sandy, beer cold, weather v.warm....new interior very cosy

while we take a few days off work, I thought I'd post some pics of the work of a very talented metal sculpter called Steve Heller from Woodstock, in the Catskill mountains New York. Whenever Neil hooks up with Artie and Linda he always gets introduced to some of the nicest and creative poeple on the planet. On the way back to New York from Syracuse....and in the company of Howie Nisgor and Rooster...Neil had a privileged look at the work Steve does............here are some pics of his furniture workshop, and some of the car sculpture in his yard.

Neil cartoons on the fibre glass bootlid of a full tilt Chris Isaac's built Sunbeam Alpine....it'll be very quick hence the 'tiger' pun

Don't forget this one if you are wanting to improve on your brush skills......there is nothing that lets a nice bit of striping or graphics on a car down  quicker than 'bad' lettering.

Neil stripes an airtank for quite a radical ride...and I letter on the hed-bus [must get me roots done]

32 is finally striped and ready to go.....Sunday marking out and painting the HED-bus, got a design through from their designer....it will definately get them a lot of publicity!!

Even Olivia our youngest got involved.....she is a natural with a one-stroke sign brush!

after our last foray onto french roads in a heavily lowered bus...we decided to beef up the front suspension a bit....Luckily T2D stock these very snazzy coilover fully ajustable shocks, and some KYB's for the rear.

Phil Slade and 'spanner monkey'Marcus looked a bit bored so were voluteered to fit them.Nice easy job...just a little grinding of the bolt collar...but otherwise straight forward.
